How to Schedule Posts in Facebook ...!


I was thrilled to see this new feature added to Facebook; aren't you? Well, if you’re a page owner or admin you should be! 


What does it mean? Well, now that you can schedule posts in advance directly in Facebook. Yes, I admit to using Hootsuite for schedule but only if I need to run to the store and I want to keep things moving on one of my pages, Groovy Reflections, since we do post often there; it’s a non-stop celebration 20 hours a day!


And we do schedule posts on holidays; this gives us all a break. We still monitor of course but we also can easily manage that while hanging out with family. The team discusses and chooses what will be posted. Mother’s Day has lots of great tunes to post; plenty of songs about her but dad is a bit more challenging!


It’s easy to schedule. First you need to click in the status box on your page and set up a time that your page was born, launched, etc. The wording here is horrible. Almost looks like you’re going to be setting up a post in the past. Don’t be fooled.


When the date update is done, you can schedule! Facebook will ask for the month, day, and year. So if you want to schedule something in 2013, go right ahead! 


The time will be in your local time zone. So if my admin in Florida sets a post at 1:50PM Eastern, I’ll see it as 10:50AM here in California. When you get to the minutes, it's in 10 minute intervals which is good enough. (Hootsuite breaks it down into 5 minutes).


Once you’ve scheduled the post, you can see it by clicking on Edit Page at the top of the page, then clicking on the Use Activity Log. Here's where you can change the time, delete it, or post it right away.


Simple. Easy. Fantastic! Thank you Facebook. Wonder how Google+ will respond to this?

Ah, I take it this is for pages and not groups, as I could not fins a status box for a group ('course, I could be missing this ....). Thanks for posting!
